P2P Node.js Engineer

Responsibilities

• Expand and strengthen core P2P networking and storage primitives
• Optimize network protocols for performance
• Implement high-performance networking code using JavaScript
• Implement custom binary protocols and serialization formats
• Work with cryptographic primitives for secure P2P communication
• Perform performance profiling and optimization of networked systems

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of P2P protocols (Kademlia, BitTorrent, libp2p, hypercore)
• Demonstrable experience optimizing network protocols for performance
• Advanced JavaScript skills for high-performance networking
• Deep understanding of UDP and TCP/IP networking and NAT traversal
• Experience with custom binary protocols and serialization
• Familiarity with cryptographic primitives
• Experience with performance profiling of networked systems

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years experience building production P2P or distributed systems
• Experience optimizing JavaScript for low-latency networking
• Knowledge of V8 internals and JavaScript performance
• Experience with libuv and asynchronous I/O in C
• Contributions to open-source P2P projects
• Experience building reliable systems on unreliable networks
• Experience with Node.js native addons and bridging JS and C
