Job description
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Patient Access Case Managers
- Oversee daily operations to ensure departmental KPIs and service levels are achieved
- Serve as the primary operational point of contact for offshore support teams and reimbursement vendors
- Coordinate with Field Sales, Appeals, and cross-functional teams to resolve reimbursement challenges
- Ensure team adherence to reimbursement workflows and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Develop, implement, and refine departmental KPIs and performance metrics
- Review workflows to improve operational efficiency and the patient experience
- Provide guidance on benefit investigations, prior authorizations, and claims processing
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain required clinical documentation
- Monitor case quality and compliance within Salesforce
- Lead process improvement initiatives and Salesforce enhancements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of healthcare industry experience (pharmaceutical, medical device, or reimbursement)
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting medical device reimbursement involving DME products
- Previous experience leading or supervising patient access, reimbursement, or case management teams
- Strong knowledge of benefit investigations, prior authorizations, and insurance reimbursement
- Experience working with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and government payers
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM and reimbursement management platforms preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading patient access or reimbursement teams within the medical device industry
- Experience implementing KPI-driven performance management programs
- Experience driving operational process improvements and workflow optimization
- Experience supporting Salesforce enhancements or system implementations
- Experience collaborating with offshore support teams and third-party reimbursement vendors
- Knowledge of DME reimbursement policies and payer landscape
