Patient Engagement Specialist

Responsibilities

• Proactively coordinate medication refills, including data entry and pharmacy claim adjudication
• Make outbound patient refill calls and assist patients through the complete refill process
• Answer, resolve, and appropriately triage inbound patient and provider inquiries
• Clarify prescription orders with pharmacists and/or clinicians when appropriate
• Identify medications requiring special handling, such as refrigerated or hazardous medications
• Manage, organize, and update patient and pharmacy information within database applications
• Assist pharmacies with prescription claim adjudication and resolution of claim processing errors
• Respond to questions regarding prescription coverage, fulfillment status, and pharmacy services
• Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with all applicable policies and regulations

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain required state Pharmacy Technician registrations/licenses
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT or equivalent) required based on state requirements
• High School Diploma or GED
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–3 years of Pharmacy Technician experience
• Experience adjudicating pharmacy claims
• Experience managing medication refills and specialty pharmacy workflows
• Experience collaborating with clinical care teams
• Previous remote work experience
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
