Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage global payroll operations across direct employees, EORs, and contractors, ensuring timely and compliant pay cycles.
• Administer global equity programs in Carta, including grants, vesting, exercises, and equity-related taxable events.
• Perform payroll-to-cash and payroll-to-ERP (GL) reconciliations to support month-end close.
• Maintain data consistency across HiBob, Carta, Deel, and ERP systems through regular reconciliations and exception reviews.
• Support audits and external advisors by providing accurate and well-documented operational data.
• Partner cross-functionally with People, Finance, Legal, and Tax teams to strengthen compensation infrastructure.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience administering international equity plans (e.g., RSUs, stock options, taxable events).
• Experience managing global payroll operations via Deel or similar global payroll platforms.
• Strong understanding of payroll and tax considerations related to equity compensation.
• Proven ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and an ownership mindset.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating in SOX or AICPA/PCAOB audit environments.
• Experience automating workflows or optimizing integrations between HRIS, payroll systems, and equity platforms.
• Background working in global, high-growth technology companies.
