Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee relations matters, including complex investigations and policy guidance
• Manage end-to-end terminations and performance improvement plans in compliance with US and Canadian law
• Administer leaves of absence including medical, parental, and disability leaves
• Support organizational design, workforce restructuring, and change management initiatives
• Utilize AI tools like Claude to streamline reporting, documentation, and data insights
• Leverage HR data and analytics to identify workforce trends and recommend process improvements

Requirements

• 5–7 years of progressive HR Business Partner experience with deep expertise in employee relations
• Strong knowledge of Canadian employment law (BC, Ontario) and US federal/state employment law (FLSA, ADA, FMLA)
• Proven experience managing workplace investigations and terminations
• Proficiency with Google Sheets/Excel including pivot tables and complex formulas
• Demonstrated ability to use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) to accelerate HR workflows
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and discretion skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field
• CPHR and/or SHRM certification
• Experience with M&A support planning
