Persian VRI/OPI Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Answer calls professionally and adhere to the Interpreter's code of conduct
• Take accurate notes during calls and render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting
• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient speakers and clients using industry standards
• Apply specialized vocabulary for healthcare and medical contexts
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue additional certifications
• Report to team leaders and comply with dress code requirements for video remote interpreting

Requirements

• Native fluency in Persian and fluent English
• High school diploma in your native language
• High emotional intelligence and tolerance for different cultures
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of medical or legal terminology preferred
• International healthcare certifications (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.) preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Dedicated high-speed wired internet: minimum 10 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload (Wi-Fi not allowed)
• Windows 10+ PC with dual core 2 GHz processor (Intel Core i5 or superior) and 8GB RAM minimum
• USB wired noise-cancelling headset with built-in microphone (no wireless/Bluetooth)
• Computer operating in "High Performance" mode with power adapter plugged in
• No Chromebooks, Macs, tablets, or mobile devices permitted
