Pharmacy Technician - Medication Access

Responsibilities

• Support patients by answering incoming calls and assisting with pharmacy and insurance-related questions
• Communicate directly with patients and caregivers to ensure timely procurement of prescriptions
• Identify potential medication-related access problems and work with multi-disciplinary teams to solve them
• Coordinate education, bedside medication delivery, and medication payment
• Conduct third party prior authorization requests when needed
• Monitor program performance including patient volumes and experience indicators
• Complete medication histories or other transitional care activities as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum six months related pharmacy experience
• Must reside in Northeast Ohio
• Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy upon hire
• Ability to obtain CPhT registration within 6 months and PTCB certification within 18 months

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program
• Experience dealing with third party insurance and prior authorization processes
