Physician, Obesity Medicine

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care focusing on evidence-based obesity treatment and chronic weight management
• Collaborate with APP colleagues to co-manage a shared panel
• Review charts and conduct return visits for APP patients every third visit to ensure quality
• Provide treatment planning and medical management support for complex cases
• Prescribe non-controlled obesity medications
• Conduct weekly collaborative meetings and asynchronous communication with assigned APPs
• Assist in the professional development of APPs through mentorship and feedback
• Participate in team-based care initiatives and quality improvement efforts

Requirements

• MD or DO degree
• Board certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM)
• Active and unrestricted state license in CA (or specific western states with IMLC Letter of Qualification)
• Minimum of 5 years as an attending physician in primary specialty
• Current or previous credentialing with insurance payers
• Experience working with APPs, medical residents, or trainees
• Strong interest in mentoring and teaching
