Job description

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care focusing on evidence-based obesity treatment and chronic weight management
  • Collaborate with APP colleagues to co-manage a shared panel without a primary patient panel
  • Review charts and conduct return visits for APP patients every third visit to ensure quality
  • Provide treatment planning and medical management support for complex cases
  • Prescribe non-controlled obesity medications
  • Conduct weekly collaborative meetings and asynchronous communication with assigned APPs for mentorship
  • Ensure clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways are followed consistently
  • Assist in the professional development of APPs through feedback and clinical growth support
  • Participate in team-based care initiatives and quality improvement efforts

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board certified and diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM)
  • Minimum of 5 years as an attending physician in primary specialty
  • Active and unrestricted state license in SC, FL, or IL (or specific IMLC eligibility)
  • Current or previous credentialing with insurance payers
  • Demonstrated experience working with APPs, medical residents, or trainees
  • Strong interest in mentoring, teaching, and collaborating
