Platform Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of platform engineers, owning hiring, onboarding, and performance management
• Contribute to architecture decisions, infrastructure-as-code, and code reviews
• Shape the platform roadmap and balance reliability, cost, security, and developer experience
• Guide the deployment and evolution of cloud solutions with a focus on AWS
• Partner with Platform Operations to enable AIOps and observability
• Support incident response and participate in blameless post-mortems
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, security, and engineering teams

Requirements

• 8+ years of platform engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or mentoring role
• Extensive hands-on Kubernetes administration at scale (ArgoCD, Helm)
• Expert-level proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Deep expertise with AWS (networking, compute, storage, security)
• Working knowledge of observability, developer-platform (IDP) patterns, and security/IAM principles
• Ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Availability for on-call escalation coverage

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AIOps practices and ML-driven observability
• Experience in healthcare SaaS or regulated environments
• Experience designing internal developer platforms (IDP)
• FinOps and cloud-cost awareness
• AWS Solution Architect Professional or Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD) certifications
