Portuguese Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate Portuguese-English interpretation for OPI and VRI calls in healthcare and medical settings
• Render all messages completely and accurately without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Apply professional standards of practice and maintain the interpreter's code of conduct
• Take detailed notes during calls and maintain high accuracy under time pressure
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leaders and comply with dress code requirements for video interpreting

Requirements

• Native fluency in Brazilian or European Portuguese and fluent English
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI interpretation experience with a recognized interpretation company
• Solid knowledge of medical terminology; legal terminology knowledge is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
• High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
• Wired internet connection with minimum 10 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload (Wi-Fi not permitted)
• Windows 10 or higher with dual core 2GHz processor and 8GB RAM minimum
• Wired noise-cancelling headset with built-in microphone (no Bluetooth or wireless)
