Responsibilities

• Contribute to the AI-Enabled Scams project through ideation, literature reviews, and recruitment
• Conduct interviews and focus groups with scam victims and youth in risky financial subcultures
• Perform qualitative discourse and content analysis of scam materials and generative tools
• Publish op-eds, blog posts, and academic papers for diverse audiences
• Collaborate with internal and external researchers through meetings, presentations, and conferences

Requirements

• PhD in Communication, Media Studies, Information Studies, Sociology, or a related field
• Strong background in empirical qualitative research methods
• Experience with study recruitment and conducting interviews or focus groups
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Proficiency in translating complex research for non-academic audiences
• Authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with discourse or content analysis
• Knowledge of tech policy
• Interest in financial cultures, generative AI, or youth studies
