Postgres Deployment Engineer

Responsibilities

• Package software into the supabase/postgres repo using Nix (with flakes)
• Manage PostgreSQL lifecycles, including major, minor, and extension upgrades
• Expand platform release systems to allow for developer self-service
• Optimize CI/CD and tooling, specifically expanding GitHub Actions and testing/release approaches
• Resolve production issues by proactively identifying and fixing problems in customer deployments
• Maintain best practices and tests to ensure stability and decreased deployment risks

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL and its ecosystem
• Proven experience in infrastructure management, tooling, and optimization
• Proficiency in Nix (including flakes) alongside Ansible, Packer, Docker, QEMU/KVM, AWS, and Kubernetes
• Experience building for multiple architectures (Linux and Darwin/macOS aarch64)
• Comfort working in polyglot environments (C/C++, Go, JavaScript, and Rust)
• Experience in async or globally distributed teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to mentor and teach the engineering team to use and contribute to Nix-based workflows
• Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
