Principal Engineer, Data

Responsibilities

• Architect scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data solutions on Databricks and Azure
• Establish a data platform architecture that enables AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics
• Define and evolve data engineering standards, patterns, and architectural guardrails
• Own the data engineering technology roadmap and conduct technical assessments
• Mentor senior and staff engineers on architecture and design thinking
• Implement cost transparency and optimization (FinOps) across cloud platforms

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant job experience
• Deep experience designing and reviewing SQL-based data models at enterprise scale
• 3+ years working with big data technologies like Databricks, SPARK, and Azure
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals including testing automation, code reviews, and DevOps
• Experience with polyglot storage architectures (relational, columnar, key-value, etc.)
• Proven ability to translate business needs into scalable data solutions
