Principal Infrastructure Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect new agent runtime infrastructure to support massive user scaling
• Implement foundations for multi-person apps and realtime collaboration features
• Design systems for AI-native curricula and new operational models
• Collaborate with ML teams to build data infrastructure for real-time LLM steering
• Create secure, ephemeral backend sandboxes for custom app functionality
• Contribute to open-sourcing platform components and supporting self-hosted deployments
• Research, design, and implement core systems for rapid AI-native iteration
• Help design engineering culture, technical strategy, and mentor engineers
• Balance experimentation with production excellence, reliability, and observability

Requirements

• 10+ years architecting and building scalable software systems
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and AWS, ideally using Terraform
• Experience implementing observability, monitoring, and redundancy
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript
• Experience with security and privacy in multi-tenant infrastructure
• Ability to thrive in high-agency, remote-first, collaborative cultures

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing AI infrastructure
• Experience designing creative platforms
• Experience in education or edtech
