Principal, Policy Development

Responsibilities

• Draft and revise policies across Trust & Safety areas including fraud, identity risk, content moderation, and platform abuse
• Identify policy gaps using enforcement and appeal data to propose revisions or product changes
• Define clear terms, thresholds, and decision criteria for reviewers and automated systems
• Map violation types to specific consequences such as content removal or fund holds
• Ensure coherence across the policy corpus to resolve contradictory outcomes
• Own the end-to-end policy lifecycle, including performance measurement
• Partner with automation, detection, and ML teams to translate policy into technical requirements
• Lead policy calibration with operations teams to evaluate and revise guidelines

Requirements

• 8+ years of policy experience with substantial ownership in fraud, identity, or transactional risk
• Proven track record of authoring and implementing policies at scale
• Experience operationalizing policy through enforcement guidelines and reviewer training
• Ability to communicate complex policy tradeoffs to Legal, Product, and Operations stakeholders
• Experience managing the full policy lifecycle from identification to post-launch monitoring

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in content policy development
• Experience at a fundraising, crowdfunding, or nonprofit-adjacent platform
• Experience translating policy into detection requirements for automated systems
