Principal Security & Compliance Advisor

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior security and compliance advisor for Outpost clients, focusing on finance, technology, and biotech firms
• Lead consultative conversations regarding governance, risk, compliance readiness, and secure AI adoption
• Translate business objectives into practical, prioritized security and compliance action plans
• Help clients evaluate and securely adopt AI tools through usage policies and governance models
• Design and improve service delivery playbooks, templates, and client-facing deliverables
• Support clients in maintaining compliance with frameworks like SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and GDPR
• Assess and improve client processes including onboarding, access reviews, and incident response
• Advise on and help implement security tools such as IAM, MDM, EDR, and SIEM
• Partner with internal teams to connect security recommendations to underlying IT systems

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in security, compliance, GRC, or security consulting
• Strong knowledge of governance, risk management, and audit readiness
• Familiarity with frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CCPA, GDPR, and HIPAA
• Experience advising executives on security and compliance decisions
• Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical audiences
• Practical understanding of security tooling (IAM, MDM, EDR, SIEM, etc.)
• Understanding of AI adoption risks and governance
• Authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEC-regulated investment advisers or financial services
• Experience with compliance automation platforms like Drata or Vanta
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CCSP
• Experience building or scaling a service delivery model or advisory practice
• Familiarity with scripting, automation, or APIs
