Principal Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and develop features and improvements in a secure, well-tested, and performant way
• Maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment
• Work closely with company leadership to guide market entry
• Interact with potential customers and the community to drive adoption
• Craft code that meets internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices
• Maintain and advocate for standards through code review and cultural practices
• Regularly demonstrate progress during weekly internal demos

Requirements

• At least 12 years of experience
• Expert knowledge of at least one major systems programming language
• Experience designing and shipping commercially available software products at scale
• Experience building and shipping self-service B2B SaaS products at scale
• Experience shipping serverless software on AWS or distributed systems
• Experience working at a fast-growing startup
• Ability to work remotely, asynchronously, and independently
• Proficiency with GitHub, AWS, Auth0, TypeScript, Rust, GitHub Copilot, and Claude

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with low-level systems programming (Rust preferred)
• Strong understanding of Linux internals
• Familiarity with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with cloud environments including AWS and GCP
• Ability to learn Rust and TypeScript
