Pro Fee Coding Specialist

Responsibilities

• Review medical record documentation to assign diagnosis and procedure codes
• Apply current coding and billing requirements to ensure correct claim submission
• Monitor coding performance and resolve denials related to coding errors
• Perform charge corrections and rebilling for denial resolution
• Develop preventative measures based on claims denial data analysis
• Advise providers on documentation and billing policies and regulations
• Educate staff on coding and billing changes to ensure compliance
• Stay updated on coding rules and industry periodicals

Requirements

• GED or High School diploma
• Required certification (CCS, CPC, BCHH-C, RHIA, RHIT, or HCCS) or ability to obtain within one year
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and basic encoder skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
