Product Counsel, ERISA & Operations

Responsibilities

• Serve as the in-house ERISA expert guiding the company’s mission to expand retirement plan access
• Provide real-time, practical legal guidance on ERISA, IRC, and fiduciary matters
• Translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable, plain-language advice for customer-facing and product teams
• Advise on plan sponsor and participant questions
• Review disclosures and communications for compliance
• Support the product team with subject matter expertise during new feature development

Requirements

• 5–8 years of substantive ERISA experience focused on qualified retirement plans
• At least two years of experience in a law firm setting
• Proven ability to advise non-legal teams in fast-paced environments
• Experience with operational compliance, fiduciary rules, and product or technology-driven legal issues
• Admission to the bar
• Fluency with AI tools in legal workflows
