Remote E-commerce Product Designer

Responsibilities

• Design and conceptualize conversion-focused Shopify website experiences, from initial ideation through to final UI implementation.
• Develop clear and logical UX flows and wireframes that align with overarching business objectives and marketing strategies, ensuring a seamless online buying journey.
• Create visually appealing and high-converting layouts for key e-commerce pages, including homepages, collection pages, and product detail pages.
• Design impactful marketing banners, promotional assets, and supporting visual content that enhances campaign effectiveness and brand messaging.
• Produce engaging email visuals and layouts that are consistent with website branding and contribute to lifecycle marketing efforts.
• Build, manage, and maintain clean, scalable, and well-documented design systems within Figma, leveraging components and auto-layout for efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with front-end developers to ensure designs are technically feasible, implementable, and accurately translated into the live e-commerce environment.
• Proactively iterate on designs based on user feedback, A/B testing results, performance analytics, and evolving project requirements to continuously improve user experience and conversion rates.
• Maintain an exceptional level of detail and precision across all design deliverables, ensuring pixel-perfect execution.
• Clearly articulate and defend design decisions, user experience rationale, and conversion logic to stakeholders, development teams, and marketing colleagues.

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including expertise in creating UX flows, building robust UI systems, managing components, and utilizing auto-layout effectively.
• Deep understanding of the online buying journey, customer psychology, and proven principles of conversion rate optimization (CRO).
• Exceptional eye for detail in layout, spacing, typography, and visual hierarchy, ensuring aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly interfaces.
• Ability to conceptualize and design original, impactful visuals and user interfaces without over-reliance on pre-made templates or generic UI kits.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale, user experience principles, and conversion strategies.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently in a remote work environment.
• Comfort and proficiency in receiving constructive feedback and iterating designs rapidly to meet project goals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with A/B testing tools and methodologies to validate design hypotheses and measure impact on conversion.
• Familiarity with front-end development principles (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to better inform design feasibility and collaboration with developers.
• Experience designing for international markets or diverse user demographics.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices as they relate to website design and content structure.
