Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end, conversion-focused Shopify website experiences, from initial concept through to final UI implementation.
  • Develop clear and intuitive UX flows that effectively translate business objectives and marketing strategies into user journeys.
  • Create compelling designs for key e-commerce pages including homepages, collection pages, and product detail pages.
  • Produce high-quality marketing banners, promotional assets, and supporting visuals that enhance campaign effectiveness and brand consistency.
  • Design visually cohesive email templates and layouts that align seamlessly with the overall website branding and user experience.
  • Build, maintain, and scale design systems within Figma, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and adherence to best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with front-end developers to ensure designs are technically feasible and accurately implemented in production environments.
  • Iterate on designs based on user feedback, performance analytics, A/B testing results, and evolving project requirements.
  • Maintain an exceptionally high level of detail and precision across all design deliverables to ensure a polished and professional user experience.
  • Articulate and justify design decisions, explaining UX rationale, conversion logic, and the impact of design choices on user behavior and business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including expertise in creating UX flows, building robust design systems, managing components, and utilizing auto-layout features.
  • Demonstrated experience designing for e-commerce websites, with a strong preference for Shopify platform experience.
  • A clear and practical understanding of the online buying journey, key conversion principles, and user psychology in an e-commerce setting.
  • Exceptional eye for visual design, including layout, spacing, typography, and overall visual hierarchy.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize and design original, impactful user interfaces without sole reliance on pre-existing templates or generic UI kits.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale and decisions.
  • Excellent organizational skills, enabling effective management of multiple projects and design assets.
  • A high degree of comfort in receiving constructive feedback and a demonstrated ability to iterate rapidly on designs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with A/B testing and using performance data to inform design iterations and optimization strategies.
  • Familiarity with front-end development principles (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to facilitate better collaboration with developers.
  • Experience designing for other e-commerce platforms or CMS.
  • Knowledge of user research methodologies and usability testing.
