Responsibilities

• Co-authoring a daily Axios newsletter full of insights and scoops for Houston residents
• Covering various aspects of life in the city
• Experimenting with and leveraging AI for reporting and newsletter production
• Writing conversationally in the Axios Smart Brevity style
• Helping to build Axios Local and shaping product evolution

Requirements

• Experience covering Houston
• Excellent sources and ability to create new ones
• Ability to break news and create conceptual scoops
• Proven experience working in a fast-paced news environment on deadline
• Comfort flexing voice and personality in writing
