Job description

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with key decision makers at the school district level
  • Sell Newsela’s suite of products to bring engaging reading content to districts
  • Manage pipeline and forecasting
  • Design lead generation campaigns
  • Manage the entire sales lifecycle
  • Develop expertise in territory funding, state initiatives, and the K-12 education landscape

Requirements

  • Background in full-cycle sales and education/edtech
  • Experience in lead generation and business development
  • Expertise in networking, prospecting, building pipeline, and closing
  • Knowledge of MEDDPICC or other sales methodologies
  • Experience forecasting SaaS business
  • School segment: 1+ years experience selling SaaS or digital education to schools
  • SMB segment: 2+ years experience selling SaaS or digital education to districts (1-3,000 students)
  • Mid-Market segment: 3+ years experience selling SaaS or digital education to districts (3,000-20,000 students)
  • Enterprise segment: 5+ years experience selling SaaS or digital education to districts (20,000+ students)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record of hitting or exceeding sales quotas
  • Drive, self-awareness, and coachability
