Sango Remote Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate over-the-phone and video remote interpretation between Sango and English
• Facilitate communication in healthcare settings using proper medical terminology
• Render all messages completely and accurately without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Follow the Interpreter's Code of Conduct and maintain professional standards during calls
• Take detailed notes during calls to ensure precise interpretation
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leaders and maintain compliance with dress code for video sessions

Requirements

• Native fluency in Sango and fluent English proficiency
• 1+ years of over-the-phone interpretation experience with a recognized interpretation company
• Solid knowledge of medical terminology; legal terminology knowledge is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
• High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills

Preferred Qualifications

• International healthcare certifications (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.)
• Additional experience in legal or specialized interpretation fields
