About the Company

Bio is a decentralized science protocol that helps launch and grow AI-driven biotech research. It enables scientists to raise funds, create value from their work, and distribute that value directly to their communities. Since 2023, Bio has directed over $50m to global researchers, offering an alternative to traditional pharma funding.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage Discord communities including channel creation, bot setup, and onboarding flows
• Host community events such as AMAs, journal clubs, voice chats, and Twitter/X Spaces
• Create engagement programming like research highlights, workshops, and topical discussions
• Facilitate connections between members and identify emerging voices
• Moderate discussions to maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment
• Track community health metrics and experiment with new engagement formats

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology, biochemistry, biotech, or a related field
• Deep familiarity with Discord culture and community management
• Active presence in online science communities (Twitter/X, Reddit, Discord)
• Strong, human-centric writing skills
• Comfort with hosting live voice chats and events
• Highly organized and proactive approach to community building

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Discord bots like MEE6 or Carl-bot
• Experience running a science meme account, podcast, or newsletter
• Familiarity with the biotech and life sciences landscape
• Experience organizing in-person or virtual events
