Job description

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Scrum Master for Agile teams, facilitating Scrum events including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners to ensure product backlogs are well-defined, prioritized, and actionable
  • Remove impediments to team progress and support a culture of continuous improvement
  • Track Agile metrics such as velocity, burn-down, and team performance to support reporting and stakeholder transparency
  • Foster strong communication and alignment within the team and across external stakeholders
  • Coach team members and stakeholders in Agile values, principles, and practices
  • Support user story development, acceptance criteria, and refinement sessions to ensure quality delivery
  • Utilize tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar for backlog management, documentation, and collaboration

Requirements

  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent Agile certification
  • 7+ years of experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and removing blockers for Agile teams
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Scrum, Kanban, and familiarity with SAFe
  • Proficiency in Agile project management tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to support Agile delivery teams in a hybrid/distributed work environment
  • Prior experience on federal or DHS-related IT projects strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Scrum certifications such as A-CSM, CSP, or equivalent
  • Experience with Lean or other Agile scaling frameworks (e.g., LeSS, SAFe)
  • Background in software development or technical project delivery environments
  • Experience supporting Agile transformation initiatives in large government or enterprise settings
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline
