Job description
Responsibilities
- Design and develop social studies educational content including video scripts, assessments, and written materials for 6-12th grade students
- Ensure content is pedagogically sound, engaging, age-appropriate, and accessible for diverse learners
- Write clear, measurable lesson objectives and align all teaching materials to meet those objectives
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles and needs
- Continuously evaluate and refine content based on feedback and educational outcomes
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts, production teams, and instructional coaches on special projects
Requirements
- 2+ years of full-time social studies classroom teaching experience at the 6-12th grade level
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a social studies-related field
- Experience writing lesson objectives and creating objective-aligned materials
- Proficiency with Google Slides, Sheets, and Docs
- Strong written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, manage schedules, and meet deadlines
- Computer with camera and reliable high-speed internet connection
Preferred Qualifications
- Active teaching certification or professional development in curriculum design and pedagogy
- Experience writing scripts for asynchronous video lessons
- Background teaching social studies electives, AP courses, or skill development (chronological thinking, evaluating perspectives/bias)
- Experience with screencasting software or online instruction
