Security Engineer

Etched is building hardware for frontier intelligence. We co-design chips, racks, software, and manufacturing to deliver best-in-class throughput and latency across both prefill and decode workloads. Our first products are heavily focused on inference.

Responsibilities

• Manage and harden security baselines across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud systems
• Integrate telemetry, logging, and tracing across the entire environment
• Lead vulnerability management, patching, and configuration assurance programs
• Partner with teams to strengthen identity, access, and network security via Okta, Google Workspace, and FreeIPA
• Implement and maintain zero-trust network architectures, SASE, and CASB solutions
• Operate and enhance security operations tooling including SIEM, SOAR, and EDR/XDR platforms
• Develop detection logic, automation, and playbooks for threat response
• Investigate and respond to security incidents and perform root-cause analysis
• Build automation, scripts, and AI agents to streamline monitoring and remediation
• Establish metrics and dashboards to measure security health

Requirements

• 5-7+ years of experience in security engineering, SOC operations, or incident response
• Strong software engineering skills with Python, Go, or Bash (C and Rust are a plus)
• Proficiency with SIEM and SOAR platforms
• Deep understanding of EDR/XDR and endpoint security hardening across macOS, Linux, and Windows
• Experience implementing zero trust architectures (SASE, CASB, conditional access)
• Familiarity with IAM/SSO systems like Okta and Google Workspace
• Strong networking knowledge including SDWAN, VPN, IDS/IPS, and firewalls
• Experience building security telemetry pipelines or observability systems
• Solid understanding of threat modeling and the MITRE ATT&CK framework
• Experience with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
• Exposure to cloud/hybrid environments like AWS or GCP
