Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage day-to-day SOC operations, including monitoring and responding to security alerts
• Identify, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity threats using SIEM and advanced monitoring tools
• Lead incident response activities, including root cause analysis and mitigation
• Develop custom scripts in Python, PowerShell, or Bash to automate security processes
• Analyze logs, network traffic, and system behavior to detect anomalies
• Support deployment and optimization of security tools like SIEM, SOAR, IDS/IPS, and EDR
• Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to implement protective measures
• Participate in the development of security policies and procedures
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members

Requirements

• Experience working in or running a SOC
• Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
• Experience with on-prem Firewall Rule and Configuration (Palo)
• Experience with VMware, AWS, or Azure
• Experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, ELK, or SumoLogic
• Experience with XDR, DLP, and UBA tools (Cortex, CrowdStrike, etc.)
• Understanding of network protocols and system security
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with Git
