Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Perform daily general accounting and manage areas including prepaid expenses, debt, fixed assets, and accrued expenses
• Coordinate and execute month-end close schedules, reconciliations, and financial statement roll-forwards in accordance with US GAAP
• Perform monthly budget-versus-actuals (BVA) analysis and financial reporting
• Partner with the Accounting Manager to establish best practices for reporting accuracy and operational efficiency
• Support broader accounting workflows including trade, revenue, inventory, and COGS
• Assist with the annual financial audit by preparing workpapers and documentation for external auditors
• Collaborate with business partners to establish accounting processes for new initiatives

Requirements

• Prior professional accounting experience in a general/corporate in-house role or public accounting/audit
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong technical US GAAP knowledge (revenue recognition, prepaid/accrued expenses, fixed assets, debt, and inventory)
• Proficiency in Excel
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and organizational skills
• Self-directed with strong ownership of tasks and timelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Accounting or CPA license (or active progress toward CPA)
• Experience with Budget Variance Analysis (BVA)
• Experience in CPG with inventory accounting exposure or high-growth environments
• Experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems
