Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist

Responsibilities

• Perform follow-up and denial activities to resolve claim payment issues
• Secure appropriate and timely reimbursement from commercial and governmental payers
• Identify trends in denied payments to remediate issues
• Mentor AR Specialist team members in the denials and appeals process
• Examine denied claims to determine reasons for discrepancies
• Communicate directly with payers to file technical and clinical appeals
• Maintain understanding of federal and state regulations and payer requirements
• Document all activity accurately in client host systems

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
• CRCR certification (required within 9 months of hire)
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to travel to client or corporate locations as business needs require

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 or 4-year college degree
• Experience in medical collections or physician/hospital operations
• Knowledge of revenue cycle and claims review
• Experience with DDE Medicare system and payer websites
• Knowledge of medical terminology
