Senior AI Controls Solutions Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert to create facility models for AI ingestion
• Map tag data and review Insights logic for facility-specific requirements
• Identify and define product requirements based on customer specifications
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and Product teams to scale automated tools
• Troubleshoot, triage, and analyze issues with control systems and equipment
• Translate customer needs into coherent documentation for software development teams
• Lead the deployment and support of multiple solutions in parallel

Requirements

• 10-15 years of experience as a controls engineer or programmer
• Expertise in HVAC and Data Center cooling control methodologies
• Knowledge of chiller plant fundamentals and sequence of operations
• Understanding of applied thermodynamics, refrigeration, and hydronics
• Experience with industrial protocols such as BACnet and Modbus
• Proficiency in PLC, ladder logic, or block programming languages
• Ability to read and write Python scripts
• Strong communication skills for explaining complex AI/ML concepts to non-experts
• Educational background in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience applying AI and ML in controls applications
• Experience architecting services within cloud platforms
• Experience with statistics and analytics
• Familiarity with markup languages like XML, JSON, or YAML
• Experience building and operating codebases/services
