Senior AI Scientist II

Responsibilities

• Lead AI transformation for Careem app personalization.
• Develop and execute strategies for customer acquisition and engagement using data-driven decision making.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to understand user behavior and drive metrics.
• Design, implement, and optimize ML and data models for user experiences and operational insights.
• Provide data-informed recommendations for business and product decisions, including experimentation and analysis.
• Build and deploy scalable machine learning algorithms for big data in production environments.
• Conduct randomized controlled experiments and analyze A/B testing results.
• Work on retrieval-augmented generation and large language model applications.

Requirements

• 4-6 years experience in data mining, predictive modeling, machine learning, and big data.
• Advanced degree in Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Strong experience with Deep Learning techniques such as attention and retrieval models.
• 1-2 years hands-on experience in personalization, recommendation, or search (preferably at a product-driven company).
• Proficient in Python, SQL, Spark, Hive.
• Familiarity with database technologies (Hadoop, BigQuery, Amazon EMR, Hive, Oracle, SAP, DB2, Teradata, MS SQL Server, MySQL).
• Experience with A/B testing, classic ML and DL, recommendations, ranking, retrieval.

Preferred Qualifications

• Practical experience with business intelligence and visualization tools (Tableau, MicroStrategy, ChartIO, Qlik).
• Geospatial data processing skills.
