Senior Analyst- Oil

Responsibilities

• Perform cross-barrel market analysis using Vortexa’s proprietary seaborne trade flows and freight analytics data, generating insightful reports and presentations for clients.
• Identify opportunities to enhance Vortexa’s data quality, transforming complex datasets into strategic insights.
• Present market views at client meetings and industry events, supporting the Commercial team with market-related queries.
• Collaborate with data, engineering, and product teams to improve analytics platform, data quality, and develop features.
• Mentor a team of analysts, aligning strategic direction with the global team and fostering growth.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, and R&D teams on strategic goals, client offerings, and business growth.

Requirements

• Strong cross-barrel knowledge of oil & gas markets, supply/demand fundamentals, and seaborne trade flows & freight markets; deep expertise in one or more areas and Middle East experience preferred
• Critical market analysis skills with ability to generate thought-leading insights
• Excellent written and verbal communication; experience presenting to clients & at events
• High standards in data analysis, ideally with experience handling large datasets
• Effective cross-functional collaboration within a global organization
• Pioneering, entrepreneurial mindset; embraces fast-paced, collaborative environments
• Fluent in Excel; proficiency in SQL, Python, or PowerBI is a bonus
