Senior API Specialist

Responsibilities

• Own the onboarding and technical support experience for API partners, guiding them through setup and testing
• Support external partners and integrators through Zendesk, Slack, and email
• Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex API issues, including payload, authentication, and webhook failures
• Reproduce and isolate issues using Postman and GraphQL to identify root causes
• Monitor API health and usage trends using observability tools like SumoLogic and Sigma
• Define and improve support playbooks, troubleshooting guides, and developer documentation
• Mentor teammates and serve as a senior technical resource within the Integrations group

Requirements

• Strong experience supporting API-based integrations in a technical support or solutions role
• Hands-on experience with GraphQL and/or REST APIs
• Proficiency interpreting JSON and XML, reading logs, and reasoning about webhook flows
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to travel up to 5 days per quarter for team gatherings

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting external developers or B2B SaaS integrations
• Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman and HMAC signature validation
• Experience with third-party restaurant technology (e.g., Olo, Toast, Deliverect)
• Working knowledge of SQL and/or Python for data analysis and automation
• Experience with API versioning, migrations, or deprecation planning
