Senior Applied Computer Vision Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve computer vision models for sports video, including player and ball detection, tracking, event recognition, and identity association
• Build and improve camera calibration, homography, and field-registration solutions
• Analyze existing computer vision pipelines, establish baselines, and recommend practical improvements
• Improve tracking robustness across different stadiums, camera placements, and video qualities
• Design experiments covering data acquisition, augmentation, model training, and deployment readiness
• Partner with data teams on labeling workflows and human-in-the-loop improvement cycles
• Work with software and DevOps engineers to deploy models into production environments
• Lead technical initiatives from prototyping through production deployment

Requirements

• Strong experience building production-grade computer vision systems
• Proficiency with Python and PyTorch
• Experience with video-based computer vision (object detection, multi-object tracking, event recognition)
• Working knowledge of geometric computer vision (camera calibration, homography, projective geometry)
• Experience designing tracking systems that handle occlusions and identity preservation
• Experience with transfer learning, domain adaptation, and data augmentation
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and clean code practices
• Ability to work independently and drive technical initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with sports video, sports analytics, or broadcast video
• Experience with multi-camera systems or 3D scene reconstruction
• Familiarity with FFmpeg and GPU-accelerated video workflows
• Experience with OCR or jersey-number recognition
• Familiarity with experiment tracking tools like MLflow or Weights & Biases
• Experience with MLOps or cloud infrastructure
