Senior AWS Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate organizational units and account-vending automation for self-service cloud environments
• Implement organization-level guardrails using SCPs to enforce security and region restrictions
• Build and enforce per-account cost controls, including budgets and automated remediation
• Partner with identity teams to design federated access patterns and short-lived role assumption models
• Maintain a library of reusable IaC modules for EKS, databases, and serverless services
• Build and maintain Git-based CI/CD delivery pipelines for infrastructure and application changes
• Instrument centralized logging and audit trails for all new accounts
• Define and automate lifecycle policies for account decommissioning and resource cleanup

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with AWS Control Tower and AWS Organizations
• Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation
• Experience with federated identity (SSO, SAML, OIDC) and IAM Identity Center
• Working knowledge of Service Control Policies (SCPs) and AWS guardrail design
• Experience with managed AWS services such as EKS, RDS, Aurora, SQS, and SNS
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipeline workflows and Git-based promotion
• Familiarity with AWS cost management tools like Budgets and Cost Explorer
• Familiarity with centralized logging and security tools like CloudTrail, AWS Config, and Security Hub

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Account Factory for Terraform and GitOps
• Experience integrating ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms for automated provisioning
• Experience with developer portal tooling such as Backstage
• Background in building self-service cloud provisioning for large engineering organizations
