Senior Backend Engineer

Description Embark on a pioneering journey to drive air freight and logistics digital transformation at cargo.one, a rapidly expanding Series B company supported by prominent Venture Capital firms like Index and Bessemer. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll engage with diverse stakeholders, contribute to feature designs and architectural decisions, and ensure the quality of work. Experience a culture of open communication, providing and receiving insightful feedback during retrospectives, one-on-ones, and regular performance reviews. Work remotely from almost anywhere in Europe and South Africa, with regular in-person meetings.

Responsibilities

• Work with technologies like Python 3, Flask, Javascript, Vue.js, PostgreSQL, and Redis in a service-oriented architecture.
• Engage in continuous deployment pipelines, automated tests, and refining log messages, metrics, distributed tracing, and alerts.
• Experiment with technologies to improve efficiency and integrate SonarQube into pipelines.
• Think about users, challenge assumptions, and bring a unique perspective as software engineers.
• Enable co-workers to do their jobs effectively by building and extending self-service tools.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong foundation in Python and a strong knowledge of SQL.
• Understanding the workings of web applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Curiosity about building transformative products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a remote-first environment.
