Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect scalable systems and drive the migration from monolith to microservices
• Scale RESTful APIs and optimize proprietary algorithms powering global trade
• Leverage AI-augmented workflows (Copilot, Cursor, LLMs) to increase development velocity and code quality
• Participate in the entire product life cycle, from prototyping to debugging and deployment
• Mentor junior developers and guide the team in mastering Ruby and AI-assisted refactoring
• Collaborate with engineering leadership and product teams to manage the technical roadmap

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software development experience with Ruby on Rails
• Strong proficiency with SQL databases (PostgreSQL)
• Proven experience building and maintaining highly scalable systems
• Demonstrated ability to use AI tools as a force multiplier for coding, testing, and debugging
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Familiarity with Git, Git flow, and modern project management tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Background working within product teams at fast-paced startups
• Experience with Redis, Sidekiq, or RabbitMQ
