Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir)

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and participate in cross-team initiatives for HR and Payroll products.
• Propose and operationalize agentic workflows end-to-end (spec, plan, execute, verify) to deliver outcomes faster.
• Redesign engineering workflows with autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
• Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives in the codebase to be applied across domains.
• Maintain high code quality through reviews, debugging, and implementing interfaces with performance and API design in mind.
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to technical discussions, RFCs, and platform improvements.

Requirements

• Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
• Practical experience designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows.
• High level of AI fluency and strong automation capabilities.
• Proficiency with Postgres (or similar relational databases).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Ability to think in systems: defining specs, breaking down plans, and implementing verification loops.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Elixir and the Phoenix framework.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies like React, Nextjs, Vue, or Angular.
