Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build robust, fault-tolerant integrations with 3rd party APIs
• Create sophisticated background processing pipelines
• Develop mature RESTful APIs and microservices for production use
• Write strong unit and integration tests to ensure code quality
• Investigate client issues and service disruptions
• Translate high-level requirements into system designs and data models
• Evaluate architectural choices and lower-level design decisions
• Mentor junior to mid-level engineers

Requirements

• 7+ years of full-time experience as a Software Engineer
• BS in Computer Science or commensurate experience
• Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript
• Strong experience with relational databases, schema design, and ORM usage
• Deep understanding of Node.js semantics
• Proven track record of integrating with external APIs
• Experience with background job processing and queues
• History of scaling and optimizing application performance

Preferred Qualifications

• Software Engineering experience in Finance or FinTech
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform
