Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the CLOB engine's critical path, including matching and orderbook hot paths
• Reduce lock contention and design safer queueing and backpressure for orderbooks
• Build for observability using pprof, metrics, logs, and traces
• Reason about settlement risk and how on-chain transaction effects ripple into off-chain exchange state
• Improve the Go runtime by reducing GC pressure and optimizing CPU/memory allocation
• Debug production incidents end-to-end to improve system reliability

Requirements

• Senior+ backend or systems engineer with production ownership of an exchange system
• Hands-on experience with matching engines, order routing, or market data infrastructure
• Deep Go expertise including runtime internals and performance tuning
• Strong concurrency skills regarding lock contention and race conditions
• Production profiling experience using pprof and flamegraphs
• Understanding of EVM/blockchain transaction lifecycles (confirmations, reorgs, etc.)
• Strong CS fundamentals in algorithms and data structures

Preferred Qualifications

• Rust experience
• Redis, PostgreSQL, gRPC, and Protobuf
• Kubernetes and AWS production operations
