Senior Backend Engineer - Trading Platform (Performance, Security, Reliability)

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services for order routing, risk checks, balance tracking and position management
• Optimize performance for low-latency API order intake and real-time market data feeds
• Ensure platform resilience using circuit breakers, graceful degradation, and automated recovery
• Implement and monitor security controls including API key access, rate limiting, and trade validation
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests with measurable SLAs and high coverage
• Participate in incident response, postmortems, and continuous reliability improvements

Requirements

• 5+ years backend experience
• .NET C# proficiency
• Concurrent systems expertise
• Event-driven architecture
• Messaging systems (Kafka, NATS)
• Experience with high-uptime systems (99.95%+)
• API security and data integrity
• Profiling and performance tuning
• Strong testing and observability practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with FIX, WebSocket, and REST trading APIs
• Cloud-native deployments (Kubernetes, Istio)
• Familiarity with AWS or GCP
• Production experience in fintech or crypto
• Contributions to high-stakes, low-latency systems
