Senior Backend Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services and processing pipelines for large volumes of healthcare data
• Integrate and optimize AI components, including LLMs, to power intelligent features
• Collaborate with frontend, data, and AI teams to deliver seamless user experiences
• Take ownership of end-to-end feature development from conception to deployment
• Implement observability for services and data pipelines via monitoring, logging, and alerting
• Implement best practices for coding, testing, and deployment
• Translate product requirements into technical specifications

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in backend development and scalable distributed systems
• Proficiency in Python, Node.js, or Java
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architectures
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Strong experience in system design, backend services, and data processing
• Experience with relational databases
• Minimum of 2 years in a startup environment
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with message queues, data streaming, and vector databases
• Experience using LLMs with tools like LangChain or LlamaIndex
• Experience with RAG systems and AI-driven similarity search
• Familiarity with FHIR and healthcare interoperability standards
