Senior C++ Web Engineer

Brave is on a mission to protect the human right to privacy online. We’ve built a free web browser that blocks creepy ads and trackers by default, a private search engine, and a browser-native AI integration focused on keeping private data private.

Responsibilities

• Implementing browser-integrated Web UI using TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React, Web Components, Svelte, and Lit
• Collaborating with the product development team on designs and specs for desktop and mobile browsers
• Integrating with custom browser APIs using Chromium’s communications frameworks
• Customizing native Chromium UI elements including toolbars, modals, and buttons
• Delivering well-tested code with high confidence
• Working alongside experienced Chromium engineers through peer reviews and process improvements

Requirements

• Strong skills building complex web apps with state management
• Deep knowledge of a JavaScript UI framework (React, Svelte, Vue, or Web Components)
• Proven expertise with CSS for building UI
• Commitment to UI accessibility and localization techniques
• C++ expertise or experience with Chromium
• Understanding of performance measurement and improvement

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with large code repositories
• Experience with AI coding tools
• Knowledge of LLMs and their associated tools and APIs
