Senior Compliance Manager

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain internal compliance manuals, policies, procedures, and systems for AML/CFT.
• Support the MLRO in ensuring OKX UAE complies with regulatory and legal responsibilities, including VARA guidance and best practice.
• Monitor and resolve AML/CFT related cases.
• Respond to legal and regulatory requests, liaising with law enforcement agencies and external partners.
• Provide advice and guidance on AML/CFT related matters.
• Prepare for independent AML/CTF and/or Compliance testing.
• Engage with cross-functional teams (Data, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Product, Risk) to implement effective compliance management in line with UAE standards.
• Deputise for the MLRO, assess, document, and report suspicious activity to relevant authorities.
• Oversee compliance reviews and investigations.
• Support the MLRO in preparing compliance reports for management and the board, and other necessary internal materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, law, business administration, or related field.
• Proven experience in compliance management, preferably as MLRO/Deputy MLRO in cryptocurrency, fintech, or financial services.
• Experience dealing with regulators and auditors on AML audit/investigations.
• Strong knowledge of AML, CTF, and data protection regulations, including SAR reporting.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong project management and remediation experience.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, strong problem-solving and risk management skills.
• Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the crypto industry and related risks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or certifications such as CAMS, CCEP.
