Senior Core Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain highly scalable backend services using Go
• Own critical services supporting Package Protection, Returns Protection, Claims, Orders, Tracking, and Email Parsing
• Design and evolve distributed systems and event-driven architectures
• Build and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs for internal products, merchants, and external partners
• Develop and improve integrations with merchant platforms, carriers, and third-party APIs
• Optimize system performance, reliability, scalability, and observability
• Mentor engineers through technical leadership, design reviews, and knowledge sharing

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience designing and supporting distributed systems in production
• Proficiency with Go or another modern backend language
• Experience with cloud-based services, preferably AWS
• Experience with relational, distributed, or NoSQL databases (e.g., CockroachDB, DynamoDB)
• Experience building scalable REST or GraphQL APIs
• Understanding of event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Grafana
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in ecommerce, logistics, shipping, or post-purchase platforms
