Senior Credit Analyst - UAE

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough analysis of financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess creditworthiness of individuals and businesses in the UAE market.
• Evaluate borrowers' financial health by analyzing income, debt levels, liquidity, and cash flows.
• Assess risk associated with extending credit and provide clear recommendations for credit approvals, limits, or rejections.
• Prepare detailed credit reports, summaries, and risk ratings for internal stakeholders and management.
• Monitor and manage credit exposure of existing borrowers through periodic reviews and early-warning indicators.
• Stay updated on UAE industry trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes impacting credit risk.
• Collaborate with sales, underwriting, and operations to collect required data and ensure accurate decision-making.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior credit analysts on analysis methodology and best practices.
• Develop and help implement credit policies, procedures, and risk assessment models to strengthen credit governance.
• Maintain strong client relationships and communicate credit terms and conditions clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; advanced degree or professional qualification (e.g., CFA, ACCA) is a plus.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in credit analysis, commercial lending, or credit risk within banks, fintech, or lending institutions, preferably in the UAE/GCC.
• Strong experience with financial statement analysis, cash flow forecasting, and risk rating methodologies.
• Proven ability to prepare credit memos and present recommendations to credit committees.
• Familiarity with UAE regulatory environment and local market dynamics.
