Senior Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, and ship sophisticated pricing models including Tree-based, Gradient-based, Deep Learning, and ensemble methods
• Identify and validate new data signals from auction results to social sentiment through backtesting and experimentation
• Partner with Product Engineering to refine Risk & Underwriting models to balance cash advances with portfolio balance
• Collaborate with Expert Pricing teams to encode market nuances into automated features
• Define, monitor, and improve model performance metrics and communicate price coverage and freshness

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Data Science focusing on feature engineering and model-building in pricing, financial modeling, or marketplaces
• Expert proficiency in SQL and Python (Pandas, Scikit-Learn, XGBoost/LightGBM, PyTorch/Tensorflow)
• Strong statistical rigor and understanding of experimental design and backtesting
• Experience working in sprint-based environments alongside Data and ML Engineers
• Proficiency in cloud environments (AWS, GCP) and familiarity with ML Ops infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or Computer Science
